Applesauce Bread Pudding

8 slices, firm textured bread
1 (1 lb.) can applesauce
1/3 c. raisins
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
1 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
2 1/2 c. milk
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. salt

Spread one side of each slice of bread with butter. Arrange 4 slices in 8 x 8 x 2-inch dish. Mix applesauce, raisins, cinnamon and 2 tablespoons brown sugar. Spread over bread. Cut remaining bread into triangle shapes and arrange over applesauce. Beat together eggs, milk, vanilla, salt and brown sugar. Pour over bread and sprinkle with cinnamon. Bake at 350 degrees for 55 minutes
