Mother's Corn Bread Source: Cookbook USA
3/4 cups white cornmeal 1/4 cup plain flour 1 tbsp. sugar 3 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 cup milk 1 egg 1/4 cup vegetable oil
Preheat oven to 350F.
Mix dry ingredients with milk and egg. Stir vigorously.
Heat oil in 8 inch iron skillet to smoking hot. Pour batter into heated skillet.
Bake for 20 minutes in 350 degree oven.
