In the late 1970's a magazine (Redbook?) printed a recipe for a Christmas cookie called Cinnamon Stars. They were rolled and cut cookies. Most cinnamon star recipes call for beaten egg whites, large quantities of almonds and use powdered sugar. This one did not. It used white sugar and only and very small amount of almonds. They were rolled and cut and were thin and crisp cookies. I lost the recipe and have been unable to find it again, as the only recipe that anyone ever has is the one with the beaten eggs and pounds of almonds. It would be really nice if someone else saved that recipe and could share it.
