Krebble
2 cups commercial sour cream 1 1/4 tsp. soda 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder 5 cups flour 3 eggs, beaten 1/2 cup sugar 1 tsp. salt
Dissolve soda in sour cream.
Combine beaten eggs, sugar, salt and sour cream.
Sift flour and baking powder together and add to cream mixture. Mix well. Knead roll out on slightly floured board to 1/4-inch thickness.
Cut into 3 to 5 inch strips. Cut 2 to 3 inch slit through the center of each strip and pull one end through the slit and shape like a figure 8.
Put in hot fat and fry on both sides. Drain, cool, and then sugar or glaze them. |
