Japanese fruitcake from North Carolina?? Several thin layers of cake,filling was ground raisins,orange (suet)? and other things, drizzelled with sugar syrup to permeate all layers. Sounds weird, but heavenly. Have tried for many years to re-create this memory. I remember grinding the stuff in one of thos grinders that attaches to the table edge. Would appreciate similar recipe.. Thanks, Donna
