FRESH STRAWBERRY DIVINITY PIE
1 cup sugar 1/2 cup water 1/4 tsp. cream of tartar 2 egg whites* Fresh strawberries 1 baked pie shell
Boil sugar and water until it spins a thread.
Beat egg whites with cream of tartar. Slowly pour cooked mixture over egg whites, beating constantly.
Put 1/2 of mixture in bottom and sides of pie shell.
Fill center with whole, fresh, unsweetened strawberries.
Cover with rest of divinity. Garnish top with berries. Chill.
*Editor's note: Pasteurized egg whites may be used.
