I have made homemade dumplings from scratch but the ones I make with Bisquick is so much better (the reduced fat Bisquick work also.)

Roll dough out thick, cut in small rectangles and drop quickly into boiling broth that has been seasoned with celery, onion, salt and pepper and cover and cook no longer than 3 minutes.

Turn fire to simmer and add 1 can of evaporated canned milk and watch carefully that they don't stick and simmer just long enough to heat the broth.

Serve with a slice of cornbread. Very easy and simple to do and well worth cooking.
