I am looking for a cake my grandfather made. It was from the 30's-40's- or 50's. I was a very dense rich yellow cake that he made for our birthdays. I know it had at least a dozen egg yolks in it, since as a child I got to use the nifty spiral egg seperator. The egg whites he use to make an angle food cake. There was cake flour, and a large amout of butter in the cake also. I was my faorite two/four layer cake, depending on what he was doing with it. I would love to bring this cake to a family reunion in a few months and would greatly appreciate any help. I tried another reciepe I found on here with five egg yolks and it was not the same. And this cake is not a loaf type cake.
