HAWAIIAN BROWNIES

3 squares (1 oz. each) Hershey's unsweetened baking chocolate
1cup butter or margarine, softened
2 cups sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
4 eggs
1 1/2 cup unsifted, all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1 (15 oz.) can crushed pineapple, drained well
1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Melt baking chocolate in the top of a double boiler over hot (NOT boiling) water.

Cream butter or margarine, sugar and vanilla in a large mixing bowl until light and fluffy. Add eggs; beat well.

In a separate bowl combine flour, baking powder, salt and cinnamon; blend into creamed mixture.

Press excess moisture from pineapple. Stir pineapple into 1 1/3 cup of the batter; set aside. Blend melted baking chocolate into remaining batter. Stir in nuts. Spread chocolate batter into a greased 9x13-inch pan. Spread pineapple mixture evenly over top.

Bake at 350 degrees for 40 to 45 minutes. Cool completely in pan.

Frost with vanilla frosting. Cut into squares.
