My Irish grandmother also made baked mutton pies and cooked them in lamb broth. I have been looking for the recipe everywhere but can't find one. Do you have the recipe, or does anyone have the recipe?
I have a vague memory of how they are made.
The mutton pies are round circles (approximately 6 inches in diameter) made of pie crust and filled with lamb, and then baked. Then before serving they are dropped into lamb broth which is made by simmering the bones, suet, etc. from the lamb leg in water.
They are served in a bowl with some of the broth.
