CRISCO THICK FUDGE FROSTING

2 tablespoons Crisco vegetable shortening
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 egg yolk (pasteurized)
2 cups confectioners’ sugar, divided use
1 1/2 squares (1 ounce each) unsweetened chocolate, melted
Cream or strong coffee (as needed)

Blend Crisco with salt, egg yolk and half the sugar. (Sift sugar if lumpy.) When smooth add melted chocolate and rest of sugar. Thin to a spreading consistency with cream or strong coffee. Beat until smooth and creamy.
