Look for the rice cookers w/fuzzy logic. They come in 5 cup, 10 cup,or 4 cup,8 cup and bigger quantity. I bought the 10 cup size to feed a family of 4+ hearty rice eaters, which gives me flexibility for making more or less rice. this rice cooker is great for making pilaf for large crowds, buffet style. the rice will stay warm a long time even if I shut it off, and don't leave it on the keep warm cycle. I bought a Panasonic model and have had no problems. I would buy a major brand for reliability, like Hitachi or Zojirushi brand, which is more expensive and sold at Williams Sonoma. But definitely shop around, check out large local Oriental stores, which usually has them..
