Chianti Granita Source: Pampered Chef pamphlet, shared by Sarah Gruenwald
1 cup sugar 1 1/2 cups water 2 cups Chianti (or any other dry red wine) 1/3 cup fresh orange juice 1 Tbsp. fresh lemon juice 1 cup quartered fresh strawberries 1/2 cup fresh raspberries
Combine all ingredients except the berries in a large saucepan and boil for 1 minute, stirring constantly. Divide the mixture evenly (depending on ice shaving machine being used) among ice cube trays or Ice Shaver tubs. Freeze until firm. Remove from trays or tubs and shave. Divide berries among 8 dessert dishes; top each with 1 cup granita. Serve immediately.
