West Bend is by far the best bread maker made. Every person who ever ate my bread or had another machine has wanted mine. I have had it 8 yrs approx. and made 1 to 2 loafs a day and the family won't eat store bought bread. In fact the reason for coming upon this request is that mine just broke down and I won't even think of another brand and am looking for a new one.
Recommendation about pan. NEVER use spray oil(pam type) on pan as it will ruin surface faster. Always wipe pan with light layer of oil(olive or veg. oil)Put liguid ingredients first than powder ingredients, than butter at corners and yeast in well in center and it's ready to cook.
Country White Bread - 1 1/2 lb. loaf
1 c. water(90-100 degrees) 2 3/4 c. bread flour 2 TBSP.dry milk 2 TBSP.sugar 1 1/2 salt 2 TBSP. butter or margerine 2 tsp.active dry yeast
Note: do not use pam type sprays as they break down the finish of pan. Wipe lightly with oil each time you use pan. Add liquid to pan than powdered ingredients than butter in corner and yeast in well in center. This is for 1 1/2 lb. loaf.
I have more excellent recipes for dinner rolls, pizza dough, sweet cinnamin rolls. All excellent and been made many times with awsome results. The bread recipe I use every day for 1 to 2 loafs. Family of 6 doesn't like anything else anymore. This and bread slicer makes only breads we use.
Editor's note: Thank you for completing that Kim! - Betsy
