PORTUGUESE WHITE BREAD

1 LB LOAF:
3/4 cup water

3/4 tsp salt
2 cups bread flour

1/1/2 LB LOAF:
1 cup water
3 tbsp butter
1 tbsp sugar
1 tsp salt
3 cups bread flour
1 1/2 tsp yeast

2 LB LOAF:
1 1/4 cups water
1/4 cup butter
1 tbsp sugar
1 1/2 tsp salt
3 1/2 cups bread flour
2 tsp yeast

Add ingredients following the instructions for your bread machine.

A very light-colored, airy bread. Slightly difficult to cut while hot but who can wait until it cools?
