Hi Elly,

I'm afraid this is too late, but today I found this mulberry recipe and immediately thought of you. (June and I both were thinking of you and your mulberries today! Isn't TKL amazing?) When you made your original request, I searched my cookbooks and found only a dismissive comment in "Joy of Cooking," but this recipe is from a booklet I bought a couple of years ago, creatively entitled, "Dessert Cookbook." Sorry the birds got your mulberries. I can't remember the mulberry recipes posted for you before, but thought I'd go ahead and post this.

Mulberry Cobbler

1 cup flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 cup milk
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 tablespoon butter*
1 1/2 cups sugar, divided
1 to 2 cups mulberries
3/4 cup boiling water

Combine first 6 ingredients and 1 cup of the sugar in bowl, mixing well. Spread in a 7x11-inch baking dish. Top with mulberries. Sprinkle with remaining 1/2 cup of sugar. Pour 3/4 cup boiling water over batter.

Bake at 375 degrees F for 25 to 30 minutes. Serve warm or cold with ice cream. Yield: 6 servings

*Recipe did not specify whether to melt.
