So happy to hear from you once again - it's lonely without you after so many weeks! And delighted to hear that roomie is doing so much better. Now - have you both gotten your flu shots???

I would love to have the citrus curds recipe - don't have a clue what it is, but you know me and anything tart and citrusy!

Our cook at school fixed a fresh/frozen peach cobbler - wasn't really a cobbler, had pie crust on the bottom of a large baking sheet, then a layer of the frozen fresh sliced peaches thickened with cornstarch poured over that, then topped with a streusel type topping, baked. It was so good, and IMMEDIATELY I thought of my dear "Sarah" who loves peaches as much as I do.

I have a wonderful, easy holiday jello recipe using peaches/peach jello/cream cheese etc that whips up easy in the blender if anyone is interested. I just got the ingredients today to make it for Thanksgiving. Typical Mid-Westerner - can't have a company meal without that jello mold!!!! I may have lived in New England longer than Upper Michigan, but those old traditions never die out.

Sarah, don't know if this appeals to you - are you a vegetarian - and to those of you who are, I apologize. Our son-in-law is a gourmet chef, classically trained in some of the largest hotels in the country. Yesterday, he drove our grandson up here to go pheasant hunting today with Grandpa, and he brought the most marvelous cassoulet for dinner - I did salad and orange ginger candied carrots with a nice Merlot. Yummy. It had: dark beans (he usually uses white, but used dark this time), ELK, suckling pig and venison sausage in a stew like base, covered with pumpernickle bread crumbs then baked in the oven for 30 minutes. Wow, was it delicious! And no, I don't know the recipe.

He is such an elegant creative chef - a true artist - one who believes that the eye is as important as the taste.

Well, enough rambling dear Sarah - so good to hear from you - if you want to find out about my upcoming holiday escape, read way down below in a long thread that I started about the holidays!! Come to find out, lots of women out there feel the way I do.

Best to you and roomie and hope you feel better real soon.
