My husband was in the Marine Corps. We got married in December of 1964 and lived at Camp Lejeune from then until January 1966 when he was discharged. He was supposed to get out in September of 1965, but a 4 month extension was added for Viet Nam. I was so anxious to get out, but looking back, I wouldn't take anything for that time. We were all about the same age (I was the youngest in our crowd at 19 and my husband was the oldest at 24) and we were ALL BROKE! Our oldest daughter was born there.
