I joined the Army in 1991. I went to basic at Ft. Leonardwood, Missouri, which I didn't see much of. Then it was off the Ft. Sam Houston, TX where we partied quite a bit. Don't remember much! Just kidding. My last stop during my tour of duty was at Ft. Rucker, AL where I lived for 6 years. 51/2 of those years were while I was military. I worked at a research lab there and had the opportunity to experience some interesting things, one of which was studying the effects of melatonin on things like menses. It was really interesting! I made some very good friends there and loved the area. It was a bit more hot and humid than East Texas, but it was a great place to raise a family. My hubby left for Korea for a year, and we landed in Ft. Lewis, WA about 5 months ago. We have seen and done alot in this area and like it here. I'm hoping to make more friends soon. Volunteering helps me meet new people and I'm hoping to get a job soon. My hubby has been to Germany (and all around Europe), Somalia, Saudi Arabia, and Korea, with just 2 tours in the states. This is hopefully our last leg as active duty. |
