No, I live in southeast Alabama. You are talking about southwestern towns. My mama was raised in Chatom and many of her brothers and sisters still live there. It's the county seat of Washington County, AL. My great-uncle used to be the superintendent of schools in Washington County. His wife helped design the new library in Chatom. All of my mama's other relatives live in Mobile, my husband's hometown. I love the Gulf Shores area, too. My husband has fond memories of going to Gulf Shores before there was ANY development.
