Tyler, I make the Bushman Bread at least once a month. Although I didn't compare the recipes, I got mine off of www.topsecretrecipes.com, October 27, 1997. It is wonderful, and it has never failed me. I also DON'T add the carmel coloring. I also make mine by hand, putting everything in the Kitchen Aide and kneading for 5 minutes or so. I do usually have to add some more bread flower until the consistency is where I can touch the dough without it sticking to my hand. And yes, whole wheat flour is what you use. You may want to compare the 2 recipes and see what if any difference there is. BTW, I usually form 4 loaves instead of the 8; we eat one with honey-butter and freeze the other 3. It really freezes beautifully. I truly LOVE this recipe. Let me know if I can be ANY help to you. |
