This seem to be an easy & good recipe. Maybe you will try it.

SPICE APPLE DOUGHNUTS

2 beaten eggs
1 c. sugar
2 tbsp. salad oil
1 c. apple sauce
1 c. sour milk or buttermilk
5 c. all-purpose flour- (sifted)
1 tsp. Salt
4 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. Soda
1 tsp. Nutmeg
1/2 tsp. cinnamon

In a large bowl, beat eggs and sugar until light. Add oil, applesauce and milk; beat until smooth. Sift together dry ingredients and add to batter. Mix well and let stand for 1 hour. Fry as usual.
