OK, I made some this weekend. I also used the Sweet Cream Base #3 from Ben & Jerry's--found it online. And we added Duncan Hines cake mix to it...I think we added too much, we used about 1/3 to 1/2 of th repackage. Reading the post above makes me think I should have used less...I recommend starting with a cup like they did. Also, we added the mix in before we put it in the freezer...we mixed up the sweet cream base, then added the cake mix and blended it with a hand mixer to remove lumps, THEN we put it in the ice cream freezer.

It came out quite good, but VERRRRY rich.

Ben & Jerry's Sweet Cream Base #3

2 cups Light cream
1 cup Sweetened condensed milk; cold

This recipe makes a less creamy, less rich ice cream. Ben likes the slightly cooked flavor of the sweetened condensed milk. Whisk the light cream and the sweetened condensed milk together in a mixing bowl until blended.

Makes 1 quart
