Several of you were looking for a Teo's Sauce. My Dh is from Pittsfield, and loves their hot dogs with their sauce. I have come up with a close version...give it a try.

4 Hebrew National Hot Dogs (Or Wohrles' dogs if you can get them), ground fine
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
2 Tbsp of Catsup (if you like it sweeter use 4)
Water
1/2 medium onion diced fine
1 tsp. molasses
3/4 tsp. of prepared yellow mustard, French's works
1 tsp (or to taste) taco seasoning
1 1/2 to 2 Tablespoons Allspice (click here to see note)

The trick here is the allspice, it's what adds that unique taste to this sauce. You can vary the amount of molasses, depending on how sweet you like it. A little goes a long way.

First, grind your hot dogs, and dice the onion. Saute them together in a skillet. Add spices, molasses, mustard and catsup, with a small amount of water to blend the flavors. Simmer slowly until done.

That's it...hope you like it.

=BTW - Teo's serves them on steamed buns, with yellow mustard and diced onion.
