COLORADO STEAKHOUSE BISCUITS

3 cups flour
2 1/2 Tbsp. sugar
4 1/2 tsp. baking powder
3/4 tsp. cream of tartar
dash of salt
3/4 cup shortening
1 cup milk
1 egg, beaten

Preheat oven to 450 degrees F. Grease a baking sheet.

Sift flour, sugar, baking powder, cream of tartar and salt. Blend in shortening. Add milk and egg and mix quickly.

Knead into shape and roll out 1/2 inch thick. Cut and place on prepared baking sheet.

Bake at 450 degrees for 12 minutes.
