FROZEN BANANA LATTE
Source: Mr. Food, WCTV

This time of year when we are outdoors a lot, high on our list of favorites: ice cold specialty coffee drinks come to mind, but they can also get pricey. So how can we treat ourselves to a frosty taste of that gourmet brew without breaking our budgets? Well, here's the scoop.

In a blender we combine:
1 1/2 cups strong coffee
3/4 cup half-and-half
2 frozen ripe bananas cut in half
1/2 cup ice cubes
1/4 cup sugar
2 tablespoons chocolate syrup

We give it a whirl until it's nice and frothy, and we've got what I call a refreshing chilled Chocolate Banana Latte! Now, what is a latte? Well, coffee aficionados will tell you that it's a blend of strong coffee, like espresso, and foamy steamed milk. Our version takes those popular flavors a step further.

It puts a chilly twist on 'em.

Plus we can use regular milk instead of half-and-half, and for those of us who prefer decaf, that's fine too! You simply serve it up in a tall glass with a straw, and a spoon to scoop up every thick rich drop! And sip and spoon away!
