Hushpuppies
1 (6oz) package Martha White's Gladiola Mexican Style Cornbread Mix 1 egg 1/2 cup finely diced onion, can use less enough milk to moisten*
Mix well; set in the refrigerator for about 10 or 15 minutes.
Drop by teaspoonfuls in 350 degree shortening, they turn themselves.
I don't find these that spicy, but can use plain if you do not like any kind of heat.
*My sister-in-law adds a can of cream style corn to 2 packages of the mix and very little milk.
