Linda I can sympathize with your need for a good Cupid dog. You posted a few years ago, but I hope you check this board because I think I have a reasonable solution for you. I live just a few miles from a Cupid's and indulge at least once a month. I too have long loved their chili and wanted to figure it out. The closest substitute I have found is Hormel Chili No Beans. I know it sounds crazy, but it is really close right out of the can. I doctor it up a tad with a little more spice. It is not perfect, but it would be tough to tell in a blind taste test. Of course high quality snappy dogs and fresh buns are a must to complete the package. Give it a try, I bet you will be pleasantly surprised.
