Good day to you. Anna,I am sorry you are having a baking problem. Yes, one of the reasons you dough failed to rise (proper name is Fermentatiom) maybe out of date yeast. It could be the type of yeast that you are using & it's preparation. However Anna, There are other reasons as well. Like if you over mixed the dough in your electric mixer & the temperature of the dough exceeded 90 degrees when you finished mixing. The gluten strands that were formed during mixing broke down & therefore could not hold the carbon dioxide gases that the yeast formed to be held in the dough to make the rize. Only you know what has happened. If you like you can post your recipe & it's directions & this way we can offer suggestions to you. Good luck & happy Thanksgiving holiday to you young lady.
