Here are 2 clones for KFC wings. Just make the sauce of your choice. They are both pretty close to the originals. At least my kids were happy, and they hate everything! I Hope one of these will work for you.
KFC STYLE CAJUN HONEY WINGS
FOR THE CAJUN HONEY SAUCE: 1/4 cup ketchup 1 cup water 3/4 cup white vinegar 1 tablespoon vegetable oil 1/3 cup honey 4 teaspoons chef Paul Prudhomme's Meat Magic 1 tablespoon canned green chilies, minced 1 1/4 teaspoons chili powder 1 teaspoon minced garlic 1/2 teaspoon liquid smoke 1/8 teaspoon dried thyme
KFC STYLE HONEY BBQ WINGS
FOR THE HONEY BBQ SAUCE: 1 1/4 cups ketchup 1/3 cup white vinegar 1/4 cup molasses 1/4 cup honey 1 teaspoon liquid smoke flavoring 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/4 teaspoon onion powder 1/4 teaspoon chili powder
FOR THE CHICKEN: vegetable oil or shortening for deep fryer 20 chicken wing pieces* 1 egg, beaten 1 cup milk 2 cups all-purpose flour 2 1/2 teaspoons salt 3/4 teaspoon pepper
TO PREPARE THE SAUCE: Combine the sauce ingredients in a small saucepan over medium heat. Stir until ingredients are well combined and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer uncovered for 20-25 minutes or until thick.
TO PREPARE THE WINGS: Combine the beaten egg with the milk in a small bowl. Mix together flour, salt, and pepper in another small bowl.
Dip each wing in the flour mixture, then into the milk and egg mixture, and back into the flour. Refrigerate coated wings until ready to fry.
Heat oil or shortening in a deep fryer to 350 degrees.
Fry coated wings 9-12 minutes or until light, golden brown. Drain on paper towels or rack.
Brush surface of each wing with a light coating of sauce.
*NOTE: If you are using frozen wings allow them to defrost first.
