DEEP FRIED MUSHROOMS

1 lb. mushrooms
3/4 cup all-purpose flour
3/4 cup club soda
1/2 tsp. garlic salt
Cooking oil for deep frying

Wash mushrooms and dry thoroughly on towel. Small mushrooms may be left whole; large ones should be cut into 1/4 inch slices. Set aside.

Stir flour, club soda and garlic salt together until smooth. Set aside.

Preheat oil to 400 degrees F. Oil should be deep enough for mushrooms to float freely.

Dip mushrooms in batter and fry about 5 minutes or until golden brown. Drain on paper towels.

HORSERADISH SAUCE

1 cup sour cream
1 tablespoon chopped fresh dill weed
2 teaspoons prepared horseradish
salt to taste

In a small bowl, stir together sour cream, dill, and horseradish. Season to taste with salt. Serve.

Yields: 8 servings
