I have watch them assemble this at Red Robin and noticed they add strawberries to the glass first and then add the lemonade. I think this is pretty close to Red Robin's Freckled Lemonade.

STRAWBERRY LEMONADE

2 cups water
1 cup sugar
1 cup fresh lemon juice
1 tablespoon grated lemon peel
1 pint fresh strawberries, hulled and halved*
2 cups cold water; sparkling water or club soda (optional replacement for the water)

In a medium saucepan, bring 2 cups water and sugar to a boil. Reduce the heat and simmer, stirring occasionally, until the sugar dissolves.

Add the lemon juice and lemon peel, stir, and remove from the heat. Let cool completely, then strain into a clean pitcher.

In a blender, puree the fresh strawberries and add to the pitcher with the lemon juice. Stir well and refrigerate until well chilled.

Add the remaining 2 cups water and stir well. Pour over glasses filled with ice.

Sparkling water or club soda makes a nice change.

*I have used frozen in syrup strawberries in the past and this has worked nicely. No need to puree.
