TASTEE'S ONION CHIPS AND ONION DIPonions, sliced into chips
FOR THE ONION CHIP BATTER:oil for frying
3 pounds flour
3 tablespoons sugar
3 tablespoons salt (I use less)
3 cups water
3 cups milk
2 tbsp melted
Crisco vegetable shorteningFOR THE ONION DIP:32 oz cottage cheese, drained a bit
32 oz sour cream
1/2 cup milk
1 envelope
onion soup mix (dry)
1 teaspoon
Accent/MSG (optional)
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon
celery salt 1/2 teaspoon
onion salt 1/3 teaspoon pepper
TO MAKE THE ONION CHIPS:Heat oil for
deep frying.
Mix ingredients for the batter together. Dip onion chips into batter.
Deep fry in hot oil until golden brown.
TO MAKE THE ONION DIP:Mix all ingredients for the dip together.*
