PIZZA HUT PAN PIZZA
3 1/2 cups flour 1 cup warm water 2 packets of yeast 2 TBSP honey 1/4 cup vegetable or canola oil 1/2 tsp. salt 3 TBSP butter 1/4 tsp. fresh garlic
Add water, honey, and salt to large bowl and mix well. Add yeast and stir until blended. Let this sit for 5 minutes.
Add 1 cup of the flour and the oil & mix well. Keep adding the rest of the flour 1/2 cup at a time until dough is thoroughly mixed. Knead for one minute and form a smooth ball.
Rub a few drops of oil on dough to prevent it from getting 'skin' on top. Place towel over bowl and set in warm, dry place for 45 minutes.
Punch it down, oil it again, cover with towel and let it rest another 45 minutes.
Let your oven heat-up to 475 degrees with a cast-iron skillet on middle rack. When you are 10 minutes from baking your pie, add just about 1/8 inch of oil to your skillet and keep in oven.
Melt butter in small saucepan. Add garlic and sautee for about 5 minutes over medium heat. Place in bowl and set aside.
Flour your rolling surface & knead dough for about 5 minutes.
Roll out a 1/4 inch thick semi-circle. Place a dinner plate upside-down on dough and cut around edge making a circle the same size as your skillet. Now place your circle on a floured pizza board or piece of cardboard.
Sauce and top as follows:
1. Brush dough generously with garlic butter. 2. Pizza sauce. 3. 3/4 of your cheese. 4. Meats - pepperoni/cooked sausage or beef. 5. Veggies - bell peppers/onions/olives/mushrooms. 6. Rest of your cheese.
Now carefully get your pizza into your skillet and cook for 8-10 minutes checking often. Makes 2 (10-inch) pizzas that will serve about 4 people.
Hope it makes you famous....... Big Lou
