The missing ingredient is Dark Karo Syrup! Determined to get this receipe I experimented a little. Add approximately 8oz. of Dark Karo Syrup to the batter and you have the Pecan Supreme Cookies from Great American Cookies. Be sure to use cooking spray and leave about an inch and half between to cookies because they spread wide. Be sure to not overcook becuase they can become too crispy. Hope you enjoy!

GREAT AMERICAN COOKIE COMPANY'S CHEWY PECAN COOKIE

1/2 cup shortening
1 1/3 cups light brown sugar,
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups self-rising flour
1 cup crushed corn flakes
1 1/2 cups chopped pecans
8 0z. dark karo syrup

Cream together shortening, sugar, eggs and vanilla. Add dry ingredients and mix well. Add karo Syrup and stir into batter.

Spray cookie sheet with cooking spray. Scoop into 2 inch balls.

Bake at 350 degrees F for about 9-11 minutes.

Be careful these things are addictive.
