The recipe for Swenson's Cheeseburgers are a mystery, however I did work there and while the measurements are not exactly known to anyone? Me & other guys who worked there have made them before and they seemed to work out pretty good!
One of the keys is cooking the burger on a flat-surface...pan-fried or a flat top grill...a regular grill won't work...the key to the great taste of the Swenson's burger is the sweet caramelization of the brown sugar!
Mix a generous amount of brown sugar to your ground beef! And I mean generous amount! You want to make sure that your burgers aren't too big, a 1/4lb burger will do!
You want to make sure you have fresh baked buns from your local deli or whatnot. Make sure you butter the buns and toast them lightly!
VELVEETA CHEESE is KEY! Not the pre-sliced Velveeta, make sure you get the real deal Velveeta cheese block and slice it your self!
Swenson's Burgers are generally served w/ Cheese, Vidalia Onions, Pickles & Mustard unless otherwise specified!
For those who want to know what sauces are on the famous "Galley-Boy" which is a double cheeseburger with homemade BBQ sauce that has chopped onion in it & tartar sauce on it!
