I tried this recipe with some alterations and found it to be not quite, but very close to McAllisters. Not having any half and half on hand, I used 2% milk and four TBSP of powdered buttermilk. This reduced some of the calories and added a creamy texture.
If you haven't tried the powdered buttermilk for cooking, it is a great addition to have on hand.
