Hi Darren,
Three teaspoons equals 1 tablespoon so a 1 1/2 tablespoon scoop will be close enough to make these cookies (you can use other size scoops and adjust the baking time as needed):

I need help. Diane Mott Davidson's 911 Emergency Chocolate Cookies says to scoop using "4-teaspoon ice-cream scoop", and I have NO idea what that is, or where to find one. Doing a Google search of the web does not bring up any such product. If anyone has any idea where to get one, I would REALLY appreciate knowing! I made the cookies, and they are FABULOUS (as every one of her recipes I've tried has been---the mushroom soup is to die for!), but I had real trouble making them because the dough is so dense that I had to cut it in slabs with a knife rather than scoop it. None of my spoons was tough enough to stand up to it, and even if it had been, I couldn't get the dough OFF the spoon because it was so sticky. I'm hoping that if I have the proper tool, the next batch will LOOK as great as they TASTE, instead of looking really ugly and mis-shapen! 8^)
