Hello, I've just found this board and am really impressed. You all seem so nice and there are so many tasty recipes I've already seen!

I'm new to cooking for one -- like some of your other members I've read about in the posts I've seen, I lost my husband recently and very unexpectedly. I love to cook, but have just been stumped when trying to figure out what to feed myself. I've gotten lots of great ideas from the messages already posted and look forward to seeing what you guys come up with next. :-)

My question is with regard to the crockette: I've always been a diehard crockpotter, but I'm a bit skeptical about the crockette. Does it really work as well as a crockpot? I know I can just make big batches and freeze the remainder, but sometimes I just don't want to be bothered. Can anyone give me the real skinny on this piece of single kitchen equipment?

Thanks,
Caroline
