Some Yankee mothers made it with corned beef mine made it with a ham, we ate it for days. I recently discoved a bagged brand of fresh mixed soup/stew vegetables, usually has items like 1 turnip, 1 leek, a few sprigs of fresh herbs, parsnip, carrots, celery etc...This recipe fits inside the 1 qrt crockette, the other is the one i use for the pressure cooker.
