Hi Alex,
I love this stuff and it is super easy to make.
Sloppy Joes
1 pound ground beef 1 can of vegetable soup (Campbell's or Store Brand)+ 1 can of water ketchup mustard hot sauce salt and pepper
Brown the ground beef, preferably in a cast iron skillet. (You could splurge and use ground sirloin if you can spare the change :) Add the soup and can of water. Add a couple tablespoons each of ketchup and mustard (French's is the best.) Add some hot sauce, if you like it spicy. I like to add Frank's and Tabasco. Bring it to a boil then turn heat to low and simmer for about 10 to 15 minutes. Season with salt and pepper. I like to put this over toast, but you can eat it on a roll like a regular sloppy joe.
Here is another recipe for Red Beans and Rice:
1 cup uncooked rice 2 cups water 2 stalks celery 1 onion 2 Tablespoons butter 1 can kidney beans
Bring water to a boil and then add rice. Cover and simmer for about 10 minutes. Or if you are a pro at cooking rice, you can do it your own way. It took me forever to learn to cook rice.
Saute celery and onions until clear and limp. Add beans and heat through. When rice is done add to bean mixture.
Again this is super good with Frank's and or Tabasco Sauce. |
