Chelsea, I just had to reply to your message. My husband is an Army Ranger, and he is incredibly picky too! Although he doesn't eat much candy, and he will eat broccoli and carrots - only cooked carrots - occasionally. He won't eat anything with chunks in it and pasta all has to be a certain "shape" or it doesn't "go" with the meal correctly. He is so funny and we are newly wed also so it is difficult trying to cook for him sometimes. Have you tried mushrooms? My husband loves them and he loves it when I make steak or chicken and saute some mushrooms and put them on top. I have some great recipes for things like chicken marsala or baked chicken and mushrooms. I don't know if your Marine goes for chicken...just thought I'd ask though. Marylin's reply about puree-ing the vegetables is a good suggestion. Will your husband drink a fruit smoothie for breakfast possibly? If you put in lemonade or orange juice, flavored or plain yogurt, and a bunch of frozen fruit, sometimes it really does taste like candy. Maybe he'd like that. Mine does. Hope this helps a little and good luck with the picky husband! :)
