I am looking for a recipe for what my Dad called "camp bread". He would make up a dough and place it in a Dutch oven. He would place the Dutch oven in a pit with hot coals surrounding and on top of the oven. I remember that he used flour, sugar, salt and baking powder or soda. It was the best tasting bread...and I can remember his stories of how they made this bread when they were rounding up the cattle here in South Texas. I hope there is someone out there that has a similar recipe that I could have.
