I have done numerous crossstitch and framed them at a framer's work shop..I use FOAM BOARD and mini pins, wash and do not starch.. the fabric is streched and pinned, sticking the tiny pins in the edge of the foam board making sure that the lines are straight. It takes some time but is well worth the effort. I would hesitate to use a sticky board because the glue may damage the fabric. Then it is matted and framed, Be sure that the Foam board and mat is acid free. It can be costly but will keep for years. The work shop cuts the foam board, mat and makes the frame.Youcan do this yourself. I do the stretching , pinning and put it together. I have done some in ready made frames but it is so nice to coordinate the frame color and mat to your piece of work. Ask for foam board, it can be bought in crafts stores here
