We've had this one and it's great with tea. I've had tea parties for my daughters before and served this. Very nice :) Going to take a break after this one, but I have a few more T&T ones to post!! Enjoy!!

~~~Buttery Jam Tarts~~~
2 1/2 cups flour
1/2 cups sugar
2/3 cup butter, softened
1 egg
1/4 t. baking soda
1/4 t. salt
2 T. milk
1 t.almond extract
3/4 cup cherry preserves (or your preference)
Sugar for sprinkling
Heat oven to 350°. In large mixer bowl, combine flour, sugar, butter, egg, baking soda, salt, milk and almond extract. Beat at low speed, scraping bowl often, until well mixed, 3 to 4 min. Roll out dough, 1/2 at a time, on well-floured surface, to 1/8-inch thickness. Cut out with 2 1/2-inch round cookie cutter. Place 1/2 of the cookies 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheets. Make small X or a cutout with a very small cookie cutter in top of each remaining cookie. Place level teaspoonfuls of cherry preserves in center of each cookie. Top each with another cookie; press together around edges with fork. Sprinkle with sugar. Bake for 11-13 min.,or until edges are very lightly browned. Remove immediately.
Makes about 2 dozen cookies.
