Shynna - I do have this feeling that you don't live in the U.S. and if so, double acting baking powder is more difficult to find. I believe the European product has a name that's similar to Dr. Oetker's or something similar. Basically it's a combination of Baking Soda (bicarbonate of soda) and cream of tartar.
