Hi! I make these cookies,Rugelach, that I've been told they are similar
to your " Butter Rolls". These are Jewish cookies that I got out of a magazine
a few years ago and have been making them ever since.

Rugelach
PASTRY:
1 cup unsalted butter, softened
8 oz. cream cheese, softened
1/2 tsp. salt
2 cups all-purpose flour
FILLING:
1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 1/2 TBSP. cinnamon
6 TBSP. ground walnuts ( or any kind of nuts )

Beat the butter, cream cheese, and salt until smooth and creamy.
On low speed, beat in the flour.
divide the dough into 4 pieces, wrap in plastic wrap and chill until
firm ( about 1-3 hours), can be kept this way, wrapped well, for at least
1 week.

Combine the cinnamon and sugar. Mix well.

On a floured surface, roll out each disk into a 10" circle.
Brush circle with melted butter then sprinkle with cinnamon sugar, and
then nuts.
Using a pizza cutter, cut dough into 8 wedges. Starting with the wide
end, roll each wedge up jelly-roll fashion.
Place point-side down on greased cookie sheet. Bend cookie into a crescent
shape.
Bake at 350 F. for 15-20 minutes, or until lightly browned. Brush tops
of cookies with remaining butter and then sprinkle tops with remaining
cinnamon-sugar mixture. Remove cookies to wire rack to cool.
Enjoy!
