I love to have fresh homemade cookies for my husband and kids but when I make a batch of cookies, they eat them all in a day or two!!! Too much of a good thing! So I got the idea to freeze cookie dough after buying a box of frozen Mrs. Field's Choc. Chip cookies from Sam's Club. I first line a cookie sheet with plastic wrap so that the cookie dough when frozen doesn't stick. Then I take my cookie scoop and lay out dough balls on the sheet. When full, cover it again with plastic wrap. Place this in the freezer for several hours until the cookies are solidly frozen. Then pick them off the plastic wrap and put them in a labeled ziplock bag. When you want to cook a few, you cook them directly from the freezer but just add extra time in the oven. This works really well with most traditional dough recipes.
