WHAT HAPPENED TO BOTTOM CRUST

Hi, For Thanksgiving I made a Apple,Pumpkin, and Mincemeat pie. The pies were delicious but my bottom crusts were too soft and "moist". It was hard to slice the pies as the bottom would "mush together" (please excuse the term but I do not know how else to describe it). Does any one know why this would have happened. I made sure my oven was preheated and pie was on a baking sheet. They were fully cooled before serving. Thank you in advance for your help and suggestions. Patty
