These are my family's favorite breadsticks. We sometimes have them for dinner with a salad and lots of dipping sauces. Hope you like them...
Breadsticks
1T. yeast 1 1/2 C. warm water 2T. sugar 1/2 t. salt 3 1/2 - 4 C. flour
Soften yeast in warm water. Mix sugar, salt, and 3 1/2 cups flour in a bowl; add yeast. Blend well adding enough flour to form a soft dough. Knead 3 minutes then cover and let rest 10 minutes. Coat cookie sheet with margarine. Pat dough in middle of pan then press to outer edges.
Topping: 1/4 c. margarine 1/4 c. parmesan cheese 1/4 c. mayonaise 1/4 t. parsley flakes 1/4 t. garlic salt
- Mix the topping ingredients together in a small bowl, then spread over dough in pan. Cut a line down the middle of the dough and then across. Let rise in pan until double. Bake at 350 for 20 - 25 minutes.
